TzikÍri

Traditional    &    Sacred Craft

The weaving prayer, from the Wixárika people
of
México

Cultura   Wixárika

Commonly known as Huicholes and for their characteristic Wixaritari language, this native group resides in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango, and Zacatecas in México. They are identified as one of the ten indigenous cultures worldwide who have fought for the preservation of their traditions and that are to this day, still carrying their ways of living.

Their rich and colorful art is one of the main characteristics as part of their ancient traditions, in which reflects the universal and spiritual cosmovision of their culture.

Tsik'ri - Ojo de Dios - Gods Eye

The “Tsik'ri” or “Gods Eye”, is a sacred handcrafted and ritual amulet of prayer, traditionally weaved for special ceremonies that contains a unique value within the Wixárika - Huichol culture, for whom the “ability to see” is vital.
It represents a portal and at the same time, a protective shield to bless, guide and bring abundance, life and harmony to the life whom such sacred craft is made for. Its original design is inspired by the four elements that make up life: fire, air, water, earth and the five directions of the cosmos.

The word “Sikuli” or “Tsik'ri” means "The power to see and understand the unknown".

The sacred art of weaving prayers

__edited.jpg

The Tsik'ri is much more than a mandala,
a piece of art or just another
artistic decoration.

It is a powerful creation that represents & carries deep meaning, beauty, spiritual tradition,

and most of all, an ancient form

of prayer.

The Tsik'ri is an amulet, a talisman of intentional
& profound spiritual power.

For the Wixárica, this amulet is crafted in order to provide protection, love, happiness, guidance and blessings to those who come to be part of
its creation.

This talismans are crafted within a variation of shapes, colours and directions (4, 6, 8, 12, 16) calling the divine forces of the universe, the elements of all creation of life and the seed of a cosmic blessing within the very heart of it, which is honoured with great respect and profound love.

I share, with great reverence and gratitude, this beautiful form of art and prayer that came into my life in a young age while spending time with the Wixárica communities, giving me the opportunity for some years now, to weave my own prayers, my vision of life and the blessings which my heart sings in every piece that I have the opportunity to create.

a prayer that is wiched to be manifested, casted, bring to life,
from the person whom I’m creating this unique piece for.

Testimonials

" From my humble perspective, Diego’s Tzikiri artwork and mandalas are perhaps some of the most beautiful on the planet. Each of his pieces of art are lovingly created and infused with prayerful attention and intention which goes far beyond the actual physical beauty portrayed. One can palpably sense Diego’s connection to Spirit and the sincerity of his prayer through having beheld an “Ojo De Dios” created from his loving heart and hands.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have received a customized masterpiece woven for me that speaks to my soul in a way that no other offering has before. Deep respect & gratitude hermano ! "

Testimonials

Diego’s most precious Tsik'ri was gifted to me for my farmland project in Austria and I could already tell from the handwritten letter that came with it, giving brief insights into the curation process of this art based on his ancestral wisdom, how special this would be to have on our land.

t has been one of my anchors for co-creating with the divine. I have placed it right at the entrance hall of the farm house and it keeps on reminding me to tap into magic.

It is hard to explain in words what a strong impact the Tsik'ri has had on me, our project, the farmhouse and the land. Its physical beauty is outstanding by itself - it captures everyone walking into our house. It is designed in a way that feels to me like a positive vortex that draws you in, that draws you into the divine. For me, it is a tool that helps to connect within and the unseen world.

And then the energetic beauty - it gives me joy and peace looking at it and meditating with it. It shows you the universe’s infinity.

The mandala connects you to something much bigger, wiser and older than yourself, especially knowing how generations after generations have weaved and worked with the Truk’iri before.

Testimonials

20231027_190852.jpg

When I met Diego at Lake Atitlan, I knew he was an artist
as well as a brother.
We shared stories about different artists, musicians and poets we liked. He mentioned that he created mandalas and they had been a tradition in his culture. I said I was interested in seeing some of his work and I loved what I saw. I shared a video of my home and where I wanted to place the mandala, and what size would feel good.

One day, a box arrived... the mandala arrived!
I opened it, and just stared at it. The symmetry, the equalness, the balance... each piece of yarn carefully woven and put into place.
The colors complimenting my home, and each other.

This mandala, Ojo de Dios, I placed at the entryway of my home, to welcome, to bless, to "keep an eye" at the opening of my space.

Thank you Diego!
For the precision, the creative expression of a family tradition, and for your friendship and brotherhood!

Testimonials

When I first met Diego in a small town in Mexico I could already see that this man was special. He had loving eyes and a warm smile. His heart was filled with love and when he showed me his art, I knew that this was something I needed in my life.

When I received my mandala, I could see the love and warmth from Diego, radiating out from it. And to this day, this is my most loved possession and a connection to a friend far far away.

I hope Diego gets the recognition he deserves !

Thank you brother, love from Norway !

What sets this mandala apart from any other work of art is the incredible journey behind its creation.
Diego wove this mandala intuitively, with me in his thoughts, and selected the colors with his heart and intuition.

The result is a mesmerizing tapestry of hues that seem to resonate with my soul, as if he had reached deep into my thoughts and feelings to create a visual representation of my inner world.

Diego's sensitivity and connection to his art and the world around him are truly extraordinary. This Peyote mandala is more than just a piece of art; it is a tangible expression of his love, intuition, and deep understanding of the human spirit.

I am profoundly grateful to have this work in my life, a daily reminder of the beauty that can be found in the world and the incredible connection we can have with both art and nature.

Thank you, Diego, for this truly precious gift.

How to choose your
tzik'ri

Step by Step

1 .- Choose a flat wall where you envision to hang the Tzik’ri from; then, take a measurement on this wall to find out which size (in cm) the mandala could fit harmonically, naturally and perfectly aligned, finding this way, the right size for your home wall, temple, or any indoor space for this piece to hang from.

2 .- You can simplify your choice by taking a look to other designs from my folder and see if there is one  or a couple-few designs that inspires you the most. I could do my best to re-create a design of your like with your choice of colors and number of directions.

3 .- I could also, if you feel the call, create a pice from my own creativity and vision inspired on your personal story, feeling, project, imagination, etc. We could schedule a call and talk about the unique and singular creation of a piece from a more peronal and deep share.

Based on this, we can then agree on a price that feels aligned to your budget.

There is an infinity range of creation for a talisman of prayer and the one will come for you as it is meant to be.
